Sixth forms, colleges and providers
Learners can share their education information with you using education records.
What an education record is
The DfE creates education records for all learners using information previously provided by schools and awarding organisations (exam bodies).
Learners will have their record on their phone and can digitally share information, including:
- learner name, date of birth and address
- schools they have attended
- official exam results for qualifications like GCSEs
- support needs
How sharing works
You can connect your Management Information System (MIS) to our service using our API. You can then send a request to learners for them to share their education record with you as part of the application process. This ensures you have all the information you need from their record when you need it.
You must check that your MIS can support this type of integration.

We will contact you with more information about how the service fits into your application and enrolment process.
