DfE education record app accessibility statement
This accessibility statement applies to the DfE education records app. This mobile application (app) is run by the Department for Education (DfE).
We want as many people as possible to be able to use this app. For example, that means you should be able to:
- listen to most of the app using a screen reader (including the most recent version of VoiceOver (iOS) or Talkback (Android)
- navigate most of the app using a keyboard or switch control
We've also made the app text as simple as possible to understand. AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
How accessible this app is
We know some parts of the Apple iOS app are not fully accessible:
- enabling large text or bold text is not possible
- VoiceOver screen reader is unable to recognise different heading types or some button/input fields context
- Some links are below the recommended WCAG AA standard colour contrast
